Two-Story Vegan Pizza Shop Lands in London

Brighton's Purezza plans a huge expansion that accommodates 100 diners and serves vegan sourdough pizza, burgers, pasta, raw dishes, and more.

Brighton, England-based vegan pizza shop Purezza will open its second location in London this February. The two-story eatery will accommodate 100 diners and serve an array of meals such as wood-fired sourdough pizza, burgers, pasta, raw dishes, and gluten-free options. “London is a hub for both great food and innovation,” Purezza co-founder Stefania Evangelisti told popular blog Fat Gay Vegan, “meaning a London-based Purezza has always been an ambition of ours. We are at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what we can create with plants, and we look forward to having London join us on the journey to see where things can develop next.” While rice-based mozzarella will be standard on Purezza’s pizzas, the restaurant will also offer innovative plant-based meat and cheeses—such as vegan pancetta—that its founders “reverse engineered” to mimic animal products. This week, pizza lovers in the United Kingdom got even more vegan options, as international chain Pizza Hut has added Greek brand Violife’s vegan cheese to its 262 locations nationwide.
