Ellen Fronts Adopt-a-Turkey

Talk-show host and outspoken vegan Ellen DeGeneres is the face of Farm Sanctuary's 2011 Adopt-a-Turkey Project.

Farm Sanctuary has revealed Ellen DeGeneres as the spokesperson for this year’s Adopt-a-Turkey Project, which enables people to sponsor rescued turkeys at one of the animal-welfare organization’s sanctuaries. Now in its 25th year, the Adopt-a-Turkey Project grants each donor a certificate with a color photo and fun details about their individual rescue turkey. This is the second year in a row that Ellen has been the spokesperson for the program, which has saved thousands of turkeys since 1986. Farm Sanctuary will also be holding a Celebration for the Turkeys later this month, wherein guests can feed turkeys their favorite Thanksgiving foods in person.
