The Walking Dead Star Austin Amelio Goes Vegan

The actor adopted a plant-based diet overnight after watching vegan documentary What the Health.

Actor Austin Amelio—known for his role as Dwight on series The Walking Dead—recently adopted a plant-based diet after watching the documentary What the Health. At an event in Nashville, TN, Amelio spoke with The Walking Dead fan John Clyde (who spotted the actor at a vegan restaurant the previous night) about his decision to eschew animal products. “It’s been 10 days,” Amelio said in a YouTube video uploaded by the fan, “completely vegan the whole entire time, and I feel better than I’ve felt in years.” Amelio revealed that he inspired his “lady,” four-year-old son, and best friend to adopt a plant-based diet, as well. Amelio joins a growing list of celebrities such as fashion designer Tom Ford and Real Housewives’ star Porsha Williams, who have adopted a plant-based diet after watching What the Health.
