Ruby Rose Named World's Sexiest Vegan
Rose joins Jenna Dewan Tatum and Maggie Q in a three-way tie at the top of PETA's annual list of sexy celebrity vegans.
Actresses Ruby Rose, Jenna Dewan Tatum, and Margaret Denise Quigley (known as “Maggie Q”) have been named 2017’s “Sexiest Vegan” by animal-rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Traditionally, the organization names a male and female winner, but PETA declared 2017 the “Year of the Wonder Woman” and awarded the title to three women in its first-ever, three-way, all-female tie. Orange is the New Black star Rose urged her 1.3 million Twitter followers to drop animal products in April to fight the Trump administration's denial of climate change, which earned her a top spot on PETA’s list. Tatum and Quigley—who are both outspoken vegan activists—secured their spots by appearing in several PETA ad campaigns with the mission to end animal exploitation for fashion, entertainment, and food. “Not all superheroes wear capes, and these three prove it by being a superhero to animals every day by choosing not to eat them," PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said about the winners. “Jenna, Ruby, and Maggie are fierce, strong, and kind women, and PETA honors them for being beautiful inside and out.” Last year’s winners were actor Liam Hemsworth and singer Jhené Aiko.
