Orange is the New Black Star Danielle Brooks Goes Vegan

The Netflix hit's star Danielle Brooks announces her plan to go vegan to 2.2 million social media followers.

Danielle Brooks—known as the feisty character “Taystee” on hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black—has adopted a vegan diet. The star posted an Instagram Story earlier this week featuring a pot of pasta with tempeh with a text overlay stating, “Vegan life! Day nine of the rest of my life??” Brooks has a large social media following, and her proclamation reached approximately 2.2 million followers. This month alone, several major celebrities have announced their intent to go vegan, including musician Ne-Yo and reality star Kylie Jenner—many attributing their decision to eschew animal products to vegan documentary What the Health, which debuted on Netflix this June.
