Macadamia-Based Vegan Milk Hits Walmart This Winter

Milkadamia is expanding to the big-box retailer to sell cow-free beverages to a larger consumer base.

In a recent interview with media outlet Quartz, vegan milk company Milkadamia CEO Jim Richards revealed that his flagship macadamia nut-based milk will debut at Walmart in January. The company takes a creative approach in its marketing of vegan milk by tapping into sarcastic cliches that surround the “clean eating” movement. Richards markets Milkadamia’s products as being sourced from “free-range trees,” explaining that the macadamia-nut trees Milkadamia uses are not linked to irrigation systems—which often deplete aquifers.
