St. Patrick's Day Green Smoothie

Begin your St. Paddy’s Day festivities with the ultimate grab-n-go breakfast.

If you’re of age, chances are you’ll be enjoying a green beer on St. Patrick’s Day. But before you do, why not begin your day with another colorful beverage—a green smoothie? Our simple recipe calls for a mere five ingredients and provides energy throughout the day, which you’ll need for this festive occasion. And if you’re going out but don’t want to swill green beer, you can store your smoothie in a glass jar with a screw-top lid for ultimate storage and convenience. You can even make your smoothie the night before, place the jar in your refrigerator, and grab your drink on your way out the door the next morning.
 
Serves 2

What You Need:
 
5 large kale leaves, stems removed (or 2 cups baby spinach)
5 medjool dates, pits removed
3 bananas
5 strawberries
3½ cups water
 
What You Do:
 
In a blender, place leafy greens and water. Add fruit, and blend until smooth. Add more water if a thinner consistency is desired.
