A new vegan shoe called “The Ramos Real Estate” made by Los Angeles-based vegan brand Keep Company in collaboration with rock back Real Estate is set to debut later this month. All profits from the shoe—which features an animal-free gum cup sole and cotton fabric hand-dyed in India with a traditional circular print using a natural indigo dye—will be donated to nonprofit organization American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). “I’ve worn Keep shoes for years, and I wanted to collaborate with Keep so I could wear something that I love that was produced ethically,” Real Estate vocalist/bassist Alex Bleeker said. “Real Estate believes firmly in the protection of Americans’ civil liberties, and we wholeheartedly support the ACLU, one of our country’s most vital organizations, and their tireless work in these troubling times.” Last year, the brand collaborated with Beastie Boys member Adam Horovitz to create the “Keep x Ad-Rock Ramos” shoe, with profits donated to health-care organization Planned Parenthood.
