Liverpool-based eatery Santa Maluco launched this week an all-you-can-eat vegan pizza night. Diners can feast on plant-based pizza options that feature vegan cheeses, meats, and seasonal produce. Wood-fired pizza options include the Return of the Mac (topped with meatless crumbles, mozzarella, Big Mac sauce, white onions, pickles, and lettuce), the Lo Pan (topped with vegan mozzarella, curry sauce, salt-and-pepper tofu, spring onions, chilis, and Sriracha), and the What the Duck (topped with vegan mozzarella, mock duck, spring onions, cucumber, sesame seeds, and char siu—a Chinese barbecue sauce). “With a new focus on sustainable farming and mindful eating,” a spokesperson for the restaurant told local media outlet Liverpool Echo, “meat free Mondays and flexitarianism are becoming more and more popular, and the number of those choosing to forgo meat and dairy for certain days [of] the week in order to reap both health and environmental benefits are rising.” The vegan Rodizio menu (a Brazilian all-you-can-eat dining style) is served every Monday for the price of £10.95 ($14.44) before 4pm and £15.95 ($21.03) after.
