California-based vegan bakery Cinnaholic recently announced plans to open 136 additional locations in the United States this year—which would expand its franchise footprint in North America by 79 percent. The company recently completed franchise deals that will bring 30 locations to Texas, five to Orlando, FL, and three to Northern California, with more to be announced. In addition to the new franchise locations, the vegan bakery has 76 locations already in development in California, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio. “Beyond just the great-tasting products, our customers seek out Cinnaholic because of our dedication to ethically and humanely sourced ingredients,” Cinnaholic co-founder Florian Radke said. “The trust we’ve built with consumers, along with our monumental growth in the first part of this year, allows us to focus growing our franchise opportunity in new markets.” Cinnaholic, which offers vegan cinnamon rolls that can be customized with a selection of 30 frosting flavors and more than 20 toppings, opened its flagship location in Berkeley, CA in 2009 and began franchising in 2014 after appearing on the TV investment show Shark Tank. Currently, the bakery operates 21 locations in 11 states and four in Canada, and is expecting further growth in 2018 as it continues to seek out investors throughout the US.
