Maple Apple Topping

This apple topping turns any dessert or sweet dish into an elaborate, decadent treat. This is the perfect accompaniment to the Awesome Applesauce Cake.

What You Need:

  • 5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons safflower oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

What You Do:

  1. In a non-stick skillet, sauté the apples in the safflower oil over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes or until tender. Serve warm or cold.
