Animal Non-Profits Win

Two compassionate groups win eBay‘s non-profit competition

Two animal-welfare and conservation based groups were among the three winners of eBay’s “Who’s Your Favorite?” promotion. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society won the first-place prize of a $15,000 grant, and the Humane Society of the United States won the second-place prize of a $10,000 grant. The competition encouraged eBay users to vote for their favorite non-profit as a part of a sweepstakes, and ended July 4, with the winners being announced shortly thereafter. Paul Watson thanked participants on the Sea Shepherd website, saying that the grant money would go toward the society’s Gulf of Mexico campaign to rescue wildlife.
