Ricky Gervais, Leona Lewis, and others have joined Humane Society International (HSI)’s Cruelty-Free 2013 campaign, a project aiming to end animal-tested cosmetics in the European Union by 2013. To show their support, the celebrities are sporting temporary tattoos, which feature a rabbit and the words “End Animal Testing.” Gervais, creator of The Office, says of the issue, “It would be nice if companies would stop animal testing just because it’s the right thing to do. But in reality, for as long as they can sell their products, they’re unlikely to change.”
