Gene Baur, the co-founder of Farm Sanctuary, a bi-coastal animal sanctuary, recently sat down with to discuss his Just Eats Tour, in which Baur is traversing the country in a Volkswagen van to celebrate Farm Sanctuary’s 25th anniversary and raise awareness for farm animals. “For people who say that animals don’t deserve better, I would say that what we do to animals says perhaps more about us than it says about animals,” Baur says. “And if we have complete control over another individual, and they may want to portray them as a lesser individual, then that says something about us.” In the interview, Baur also discusses some personal highlights of the last quarter century and Farm Sanctuary’s future.
