Classic Fry Bread

Perfect for Thanksgiving, traditional fry bread is easily customizable for a quick savory snack.
Topped with fruity jam or enjoyed with hearty stew, ever-versatile fry bread is a quick and easy treat.
Serves 4 to 6
What You Need:
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
Vegetable oil
What You Do:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in water well to form a soft (but not sticky) dough.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat a thin layer of oil. On a work surface, divide dough into 6 to 8 pieces and then flatten to form patties.
- In hot skillet, carefully add flattened dough pieces, in batches if necessary. Fry bread 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown, then flip and repeat. Drain on paper towels, and serve warm.
