Pro Wrestler Goes Vegan, Following Lead of Fellow WWE Star

Current WWE champion CM Punk recently decided to go vegan in an effort to test his self-discipline.

Reigning World Wrestling Entertainment champion CM Punk has taken a cue from fellow pro-wrestler Daniel Bryan and decided to adopt a vegan diet. In an interview with Canadian TV station MuchMusic, the 33-year-old wrestler discusses his recent transition to veganism—a decision he says has nothing to do with ethics or health. “I’m a weird alpha-male. I decided to drastically change up my diet and workout simply because I’m bored. It’s a challenge and I like to challenge myself,” he says. Though this marks his first foray into veganism, CM Punk is no stranger to niche lifestyles: The Chicago-native identifies as straight edge, meaning he abstains from drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol.
