Mexican Hot Chocolate Syrup

A pinch of cayenne adds heat to sweet, smooth chocolate sauce.
Fans of sweet and spicy will love this chocolate sauce, which is perfect atop waffles or ice cream (or both).
Serves 4 to 6
What You Need:
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon coarse smoked sea salt
What You Do:
- In a sauce pot over medium heat, combine water, sugar, and cocoa powder and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, and add cayenne and salt. Serve immediately.
