This Week's Must-Have

The Vegg

Better your breakfast with all kinds of eggy goodness—and no chickens harmed in the making.

Ah, breakfast. It’s like all of the best foods ever have to be reserved for the morning so that we don’t nosh on them non-stop all day long. But due to the heavy presence of eggs and dairy in many traditional recipes, we often have to get crafty to replicate some of our most decadent favorites, vegan-style. Behold—The Vegg was created with this purpose in mind. Hollandaise? Frittatas? No longer merely figments of our imagination. The key to The Vegg’s flavor—a dead ringer for that of egg yolks—is a nutritional-yeast base with a touch of black salt, but that doesn’t mean it can’t go sweet too. Fancy French toast, superior scrambles, and can’t-believe-it crème brulée, here we come! Bonus—10 percent of net sales from the product through 2014 will benefit animal-welfare organization Compassion Over Killing. Even more food for thought!
