Texas State Veggie Fair Returns for a Third Year

Patrons will find food trucks, workshops, and a high-stakes fried -foods competition during the Dallas fair’s third run.

The Texas State Veggie Fair, which coincides with the State Fair of Texas, is back for its third year in a new location at Reverchon Park. Having outgrown last year’s venue with 3,000 attendees strong, the October 21 event, hosted by dallasvegan.com, will be home to food trucks such as Zombie’s Food Truck and Good Karma Kitchen, and run workshops on starting a vegan business and introduction to animal rights. The premiere event of the fair is a fried foods competition, which last year saw fried risotto balls, spicy “chicken” nuggets, and even fried piña colada, with fried banana pie taking home the “most creative” trophy.
