New York Times Veg Thanksgiving Series Returns

The popular news outlet shares recipes and tips for a meat-free Thanksgiving meal.

The New York Times’ health and wellness-themed blog, Well, not only goes meat-free every Thanksgiving, but also pulls together meat- and dairy-free recipes from well known chefs and food authors for online readers. This year, writer Tara Parker-Pope introduces 2012’s Vegetarian Thanksgiving series with vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli’s favorite recipes. Some of the items listed include Coscarelli’s Roasted Apple, Butternut Squash, and Caramelized Onion Pizza; Coconut Mashed Yams with Currants; and Southern Skillet Black-Eyed Peas and Cauliflower with Quick Biscuits. The savvy chef tells The New York Times, “It’s more about finding other flavors … I’m not throwing a bunch of fake cheese and fake meat on top of something and calling it a pizza.”
