Vegan Chocolatier Wins on the Food Network

Josh Rosen of Charm School Chocolates wins the Food Network’s holiday special Sweet Genius.

Executive chef and owner of vegan confectionary Charm School Chocolates Josh Rosen made an appearance on the holiday special of Sweet Genius, Holiday Genius, airing on December 6 and topped the competition—including professional chefs Maureen Leonard, Connie Mullins, and Melissa Reaves. In the episode the Food Network says, “In the first test: A little ambassador from the North Pole, a fabled pudding and a classic yultide candy … for the second test, along with a starchy packaged food and colorful refreshment … in the final holiday hoorah, the cakes test, they must find a way to make chocolate treats work with beets…”. Last March, other Food Network show Cupcake Wars featured its first-ever dairy-free episode, putting former contestants Chloe Coscarelli, Sticky Fingers’ Doron Petersan, and C’est La V’s Kim Garr to the test. Coscarelli was the episode’s victor.
