Nurse Goes Vegan, Loses 116 Pounds in One Year

Sarah Cutting shares her amazing vegan transformation with cable network Headline News Network.

After seeing herself in a family photo and losing her father, Sarah Cutting decided to get healthy with a vegan diet—and with great success. In less than a year, the nurse’s weight dropped from 290 to 174 pounds—a 116-pound weight loss—and decided to share her story with the Headline News Network as part of its “New Year, New You” segment. “[Giving up meat and dairy] was probably the easiest thing I’ve ever done,” Cutting tells HLN. Cutting isn’t the only person to hit the silver screen with her vegan transformation: last November, a Portland, ME-area news anchor lost 31 pounds and cut his cholesterol from 128 to 87 after going vegan for 60 days.
