Serious Eats Staffers: We’re Going to Go Vegan!

The chief creative officer and managing editor of foodie website Serious Eats are going vegan for the month.

The new year has brought with it a number of curious omnivores considering plant-based living. NY Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire recently went vegan, and two Serious Eats staffers are also giving it a shot. Chief Creative Officer J. Kenji López-Alt tried veganism last year, but this time he’s including friends, family, and Managing Editor Erin Zimmer. Serious Eats Founder Ed Levine, who previously expressed anti-vegan preferences, says he will also go meat-free for a week. López-Alt will blog about preparing a vegan meal for 20 guests, creating fast and filling recipes that are free of animal-products, and dining with a meat-enthusiast chef. Kicking off his vegan month with a compilation of essays, recipes, and tips for new vegans, the series will run on Serious Eats through February.
