Pet Preparation for Incoming Winter Blizzards

As people stock up on supplies for the impending snowfall, the HSUS reminds people to make the proper preparations for their companion animals.

With winter in full effect and blizzards forecasted in the immediate future, The Humane Society of the United States reminds people to keep the safety of their four-legged friends in mind during the imminent winter storms. On its website the HSUS has a list of preparations people can make for their pets including putting a collar with identification tags on them, compiling a list of pet-friendly hotels, and having pictures of pet so they can be identified in case of an emergency. The nonprofit also recommends making a pet emergency kit, which should include a five-to-seven day food supply kept in airtight containers, food and water bowls, and medications.
