Bob Barker Joins Elephant-Protection Campaign

Behind the fun facade of elephant entertainment is abhorrent cruelty. ADI and Bob Barker intend to put an end to it.

Animal Defenders International has embarked on a country-wide campaign to expose the behind-the-scenes cruelty of elephant rides with a new DVD narrated by former The Price is Right host, Bob Barker. The educational film shows hidden footage of companies Have Trunk Will Travel and Trunks & Humps, where the workers repeatedly strike and shock the animals. “I can understand why people want to see animals like elephants up close,” Barker narrates. “But isn’t it especially tragic when animals are suffering and being abused simply to entertain us?” The DVD, titled No Fun for Elephants, will be sent to event organizers throughout the US, so they will think twice when booking their events.
