Peacefood Cafe Opens a Second Location in NYC

Vegans in The Big Apple can enjoy more meatless fare near Union Square.

Justin Timberlake may have been joking on a recent Saturday Night Live skit promoting the opening of a fictional vegan eatery, but Peacefood Cafe is the most recent cruelty-free restaurant to open in a long line of vegan spots popping up all over the country. While the original location is on the Upper West Side, the new café is on the hip block of 11th street and University Place. Partners Peter Lu and Eric Yu say the new, larger space will allow them to offer more variety such as custom-order vegan wedding cakes, according to neighborhood blog dnainfo.com. Peacefood joins other meat-free eateries in the area including: JivamuktTea Cafe, Body & Soul, One Lucky Duck, and Zen Palate.
