Chicago’s Wrigley Field Caters to Meat-Free Fans

Whether it’s hot dogs covered in mustard and ketchup or nachos smothered in cheese, sporting event fare is usually anything but veg-friendly. But due to the rising demand of meatless cuisine, Chicago’s Wrigley Field will sell veggie hot dogs made by Levy Restaurants and a veggie chopped salad. These are not the first cruelty-free items on Wrigley’s menu—the Windy City arena already serves a veggie burger as well as fruit cups and vegetable cups. Other notable stadiums that cater to the meat-free crowd include the Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, which has a faux chicken-steak sandwich, and Seattle’s Safeco Field, which offers game-goers a slew of different veggie dogs such as chili and the Japanese-style IchiBan, which has teriyaki carmelized onions and daikon.
