Ohio Vegan Bakery Launches Online-Funding Campaign

Veg’n Out hopes donations will enable it to open a permanent storefront.

Baker Derek Wytzka has grand plans for a space where locals of Berea, OH can relax and veg out on his tasty vegan desserts. Spurred by the lack of plant-based sweets in his area, Wytzka whipped up a test batch of chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies for friends and family to try, and pursued a minor in entrepreneurship at Baldwin Wallace University. His cupcakes have been featured in a local NBC news station promotion and at events around the community, but Wytzka was recently told his new bakeshop needed renovating in order to meet city health standards. With a goal of raising $100,000 in 59 days, the baker turned to Indiegogo in hopes of finding funding for his dream.
