Kickstarter Campaign for Vegan Children’s Book

Children’s Book Dave Loves Chickens is a fun and educational way to show kids that animals are not meant to be eaten.

Veganism and the inherent compassion for animals is not something reserved for adults and adolescents. Seeing animals as more than products to be served on plates is something illustrator Carlos Patino aims to instill in kids with his children’s book Dave Loves Chickens. Dave, a monster who doesn’t understand why people eat animals, comes to earth and teaches the readers fun facts about chickens, such as how they are the closest living relative to the Tyrannosaurus rex and that they enjoy taking dust baths. Patino is taking his project to Kickstarter to raise funds to send the book to press. Two lucky donators will have black-and-white illustrations of themselves printed in the back of the book so young readers can color them in.
