New Orleans Will Get a New Vegetarian Restaurant

Big Easy residents will be able to enjoy cruelty-free fare at Good Karma Prasad Café.

Slated to open its doors in late summer, Good Karma Prasad Café is the latest meatless eatery to announce its opening in The Crescent City. Business partners Michelle Baker and Sughosh Berg are teaming up to start Berg’s third vegetarian café; Berg’s family runs Good Karma Medley, a Mississippi restaurant with two locations. The new café will be located inside of Swan River Yoga studio, which Baker runs, and will have emphasis on Indian cuisine and organic and local produce. “We want to be conscious of the effect food has on our bodies, keeping us healthy … And there’s the effect that our food choices have on the planet,” she tells bestofneworleans.com.
