The Vegan Zombie Dream Team

The creator of the Vegan Zombie assembles a cruelty-free crew to battle the undead.

With Halloween upon us, the possibility of an impending zombie takeover is a frequent conversation topic here at VegNews. And in case of a flesh-eating uprising, we can’t help but wonder, “Who would make the ultimate zombie apocalypse dream team?” So we asked undead expert Chris Cooney, the creator of the wildly popular Vegan Zombie cooking show, to cast a crew of eight veg individuals whom he’d want by his side during a living dead takeover.

Here are his picks:

Team Leader: Brad Pitt. The Brad Pitt from World War Z seems to always have a plan in a sticky situation. He stays calm and makes quick decisions.

Brawler: Mike Tyson. We all know that he can brawl and bite.

Weapons Expert: Vegan Black Metal Chef. He has all kinds of weapons that would do the trick for self-defense or offense in an apocalypse.

Brains: Peter Dinklage, better known as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones. He’s a smart guy who would rather have a book in his hand than a weapon. I read that he was a vegetarian and not a vegan, but how could I not pick him?

Medic: The one and only Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. He is a well-known surgeon as well as a proponent of plant-based diets, and he has many years of experience in the medical field.

Speed: Vegan MMA fighter Mac Danzig. He is a great competitor in the ring and has the speed and endurance to survive a zombie apocalypse.

Guy Who Dies First: Steve-O. I like Steve-O. He’s cool and funny and vegan, but let’s face it, he has done some pretty dumb things.

Mascot: Indy, my German Shepherd. He’s a loyal and handsome pup.
