Cries of Mother Cow Cause Neighbors to Call Police

The cries from a mother cow who had her babies taken from her prompt neighbors to contact the police numerous times.

Recently, authorities were summoned to a dairy farm in Newbury, MA, after multiple calls were placed to police about a strange noise coming from a nearby area. According to the on-scene police sergeant, the noise was being made by a mother cow who was in distress due to her young calf being taken from her. Animal-welfare organization, Mercy For Animals, notes that this recent incident is a regular part of the dairy industry, in which mothers are impregnated to produce more milk but have their young ones taken from them within a day of giving birth.
