Farm Sanctuary Joins Free Birds to Help Turkeys

Animated turkeys Reggie and Jake are appealing to the public to sponsor Farm Sanctuary’s gobbling guests this Thanksgiving.

Animal welfare organization Farm Sanctuary is teaming up with turkey characters Reggie and Jake—voiced by Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson in the new animated feature film Free Birds—to promote its Adopt a Turkey Project. For $30, donors can sponsor a rescued turkey at one of Farm Sanctuary’s three shelters and will receive a certificate, color photo, and fun details about the bird they’re supporting. Some of the turkeys include Tulip, a sensitive bird who loves eating grapes at the New York sanctuary; Minerva, a sociable, sunflower-seed-eating turkey who lives at the Los Angeles shelter; and Tibbot, a resident of the Northern California sanctuary who is keen on lettuce and meeting new people.
