In a recent interview with media outlet Urbanette, actress Michelle Pfeiffer—known for her role as Catwoman in Batman Returns (among many others)—revealed that her vegan diet is what has helped her “age gracefully.” In response to fellow vegan writer Hilary Rowland’s inquiry about the secret behind her glowing skin, the 57-year-old said, “I definitely think it’s because I’m vegan. Eating a vegan diet—it’s just so much healthier and you avoid a lot of toxins that could age your skin and your body.” Pfeiffer was inspired to go vegan after her father died from cancer, stating that she sees “people dying from chronic disease and terminal illnesses. Anyway, science is always changing, but this one seems to stick.” The actress admitted that going vegan was initially hard but encouraged others to try it to “see how [they] feel.” In addition to Pfeiffer, other actresses such as Demi Moore credit their vegan diet for maintaining their health as they age.
