Texas Rangers to Get All-Vegan Food Cart

Vegan organization Veggie Happy successfully partnered with concessions at the Globe Life Park—home of Major League Baseball team Texas Rangers—to bring an all-vegan cart to the ballpark for the 2016 season. When the organization’s manager Twalla Grant, who founded the Veggie Texas Rangers Fans Facebook group, attended opening day at the ballpark in 2014, she discovered a lack of vegan options and began working with the Globe Life’s concessions manager to remedy the problem. The new cart will be a mainstay in section 16 and will feature items such as a Southwest Black Bean Burger, vegan nachos, hot dogs, jerky, chili, wraps, salads, and fresh-cut fruit. The best veg-friendly stadiums across the country are ranked annually by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals—with Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles taking top accolades in 2015 for its vegan nachos. The cart will be operating in time for opening day on April 4.
