Over the weekend, tattoo artist and animal rights activist Kat Von D’s cosmetic brand Kat Von D Beauty expanded to the United Kingdom and Ireland. The brand has been available online to customers in those regions since mid-September but is now expanding to British and Irish branches of department store Debenhams. Von D attended the launch party in London where Debenhams employees passed out vegan cookies and lattes to customers waiting in line. Items from the line available for purchase include an array of eye shadows, lipsticks, and palettes—including the Shade + Light Contour Palette which Von D recently reformulated to be made with all-vegan ingredients by removing insect-derived carmine. Von D announced earlier this year that she will continue to reformulate her entire line—which has never been tested on animals—to fit with her vegan lifestyle. In addition to donating $50,000 to animal rights organization Mercy for Animals (MFA), Von D attended a gala last month that raised $1.4 million to support MFA’s undercover investigations.
