The Egerton House Hotel in London recently launched an all-vegan afternoon tea menu. Guests can now enjoy their choice of loose leaf tea with a full spread of vegan finger foods including freshly baked scones (served with fruit preserves), an assortment of sandwiches, and five cake options—including a fruit and custard tartlet. The Egerton will serve its new menu all day for £40 (approximately $50) per person. Vegans can also enjoy the traditional British activity—which falls between lunch and dinner and is seen as a respite from the day—at several other London establishments by request only. In addition to a plethora of options for afternoon tea, the vegan food scene in London continues to boom. Cruelty-free diners can now order vegan fried chicken at the Temple of Seitan, baked goods at newly veganized café The Fields Beneath, a selection of vegan sandwiches at the all-vegetarian outlet of Pret a Manger, amongst a growing list of other vegan-friendly establishments.
