New vegan restaurant Eden Burger is set to open in the coming weeks in Columbus, Ohio. The vegan eatery will be replacing hot dog shop DareDevil Dogs that shuttered earlier this year after two years in operation. “What we’re trying to do with this is shatter the stigma of what it means to be vegan or plant-based,” Eden Burger co-founder Chad Goodwin said. Eden Burger’s menu will include all-organic plant-based burgers, dairy-free milkshakes, and fries—recipes for which have been tested in local restaurant kitchens for several months. According to Goodwin, the aim of the restaurant is also to “fight against the greatest environmental problems we face today” by eschewing animal products. The global vegan fast-casual industry has grown vastly this year with the debut of the second location of Las Vegas’ Vege-Way, newly veganized London-based pizzeria PickyWops, and Globally Local in Canada—with a second location featuring the world’s first 24-hour vegan drive-thru scheduled for a June opening.
