Pamela Anderson to Open Vegan Eatery in France

Baywatch actress-turned-activist Pamela Anderson announced plans to open vegan restaurant La Table du Marché (“The Market Table”) by Pamela in Saint-Tropez, France on July 4. The romantic eatery—which will share the grounds with French hotel Moulins de Ramatuelle—is helmed by French chef Christophe Leroy, who will prepare a nightly tasting menu that features shareable dishes such as tomato tartare with goji berries, asparagus risotto, vegan burgers, along with plenty of champagne. The restaurant’s American Independence Day opening date is no coincidence. Anderson’s restaurant announcement was part of an online letter she penned about her boyfriend and WikiLeaks founder Julian Paul Assange, who is currently living in the confines of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London under political asylum. In the letter, Anderson invites new French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Trogneux to La Table du Marché on opening day to discuss what can be done to free Assange. The star ends her letter with a bold call to action for humans and animals alike. “Stop interfering in elections,” Anderson writes. “Stop torturing animals and eating them. Stop writing speeches on goatskin. Letting Julian go free would change everything.”
