Vegan company Kite Hill is set to launch a new line of vegan yogurts exclusively at Whole Foods Market in September. The brand—known for its artisanal vegan cheese line—will debut novel yogurt products to compete with dairy-based offerings in three different categories. Child-friendly Kite Hill Almond Milk Yogurt tubes will be available in two flavors: strawberry-banana and wildberry. The company will also launch Kite Hill Greek Style Yogurt in seven flavors with more than 10 grams of plant protein per serving. A drinkable vegan yogurt will also be available in four flavors—including mango, berry, vanilla, and plain unsweetened—fortified with probiotics, calcium, and vitamins A, D, and B-12. During the September rollout of the new yogurt line, Kite Hill will also add a new jalapeño flavor to its cream cheese-style spread offerings. Last year, Kite Hill—launched in 2013 by vegan chef Tal Ronnen—received an $18 million investment led by General Mills’ investment arm 301, Inc. that helped the brand expand its line of dairy-free products such as cheeses, ravioli, and yogurt to nationwide distributors.
