Lightlife Launches New Veggie-Forward Deli Slices

Chickpeas, kale, and white beans are featured ingredients in Lightlife's new meatless slices.

Meatless company Lightlife Foods will debut two flavors of vegan deli slices at Whole Foods Markets next week. The new vegan meat flavors include Chickpea & Red Pepper and White Bean & Kale. Made with non-GMO ingredients, the new products join Lightlife’s wide range of meatless food such as turkey deli slices, tempeh bacon, pepperoni, sausages, burgers, hot dogs, and breakfast patties. Earlier this year, Lightlife was acquired by Canadian meat company Maple Leaf Foods for $140 million shortly after the company announced that it would remove all animal products from its line by the end of the year. Vegan meat alternatives are a lucrative business and are currently valued to be a $4 billion global industry.
