After hearing about the VegNews Veggie Awards,
our annual reader survey of the best vegetarian
products, services and places, the San Francisco
Chronicle wanted to know more! Food columnist
GraceAnn Walden devoted her December 17 column
to the awards and made mention of a handful of
our winners. Visit vegnews.com/veggieawards.html
to view all of the winning companies as well as
the Chronicle article. We're happy to report that
VegNews was inundated with subscription orders
after the piece was published.
We'll be devoting our February VegNewsletter to rich, decadent and dairy-free DARK CHOCOLATE. Learn about the best vegan chocolate available today as well as some of our favorite chocolate recipes. As always, there will be a few other surprises in this very special Valentine's edition of VegNewsletter.
If we haven't been busy enough, the founders of
VegNews are pleased to announce a new non-profit
organization, The Veg News Network. In much the
same way that VegNews promotes current happenings
in the vegetarian world, VNN will organize, fund,
and assist in the implementation of exciting and
appealing projects that promote a plant-based
diet and lifestyle. Current projects include the
Bay Area Veg Fair, The Veggie Awards, Compassionate
Cooks Vegetarian Cooking Classes, and the VegNews
Journalism Fund. Want to know more? Let us know!
We just want to remind you that if you have friends
or family whom you feel would be interested in
VegNews, we will be happy to send them a complimentary
copy of the magazine. Please submit requests to:

For the past several months, VegNews has been
undergoing a re-design with the help of San Francisco-based
Vertebrae Design Studio. Beginning with our March/April
edition, VegNews will have a new look--a complete
overhaul, you could say. A facelift. And a full-body
tuck to boot. If you have liked us until now,
you ain’t seen nothing yet. Have no fear--we’ll
have the same up-to-date content (plus a few new
surprises), but in a different “package.”
Stay tuned... the best is yet to come.
Please help us get the word out! We'd be most grateful if you could share this edition of VegNewsletter with your friends, family, colleagues and any related lists you're on. Thank you.
Wishing you a wonderful 2004,
The VegNews Team
P.S. If you aren't yet a subscriber to VegNews,
