Swedish vegan brand Oatly recently launched a five-flavor ice cream line in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The oat-based ice cream line includes three classic flavors (Pretty Average Vanilla, Totally Basic Chocolate, and Quite Ordinary Strawberry), and two inventive varieties (Really Posh Caramel Hazelnut and Very Fancy Double Chocolate Fudge). The company, which is best known for its barista blend oat-based milk—a dairy alternative that is gaining popularity in coffee shops across the United States—creatively announced the launch of its ice cream line via Instagram with a teaser video soundtracked by classic song “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice. To promote the launch, Oatly launched a truck in Stockholm, Sweden to give out free samples of its new ice cream line. Oatly plans to debut its original three ice cream flavors—vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate—along with a host of new products such as “oatgurt” (vegan yogurt), “oat spread” (vegan cream cheese), and oat-based ice cream bars in the United States in coming months.
