Honeymoon: Yellowstone National Park

Wedding Day Highlights: Initially concerned about how relatives and friends would react to a gay vegan wedding, Dan and Mike were both thrilled and even a bit surprised at the outpouring of support they received and the large number of friends and family members in attendance, including people of many faiths and varying views on social issues. Since Mike is a musician, music was an integral part of the service. Guests arriving at the church were serenaded by a friend playing bagpipes. Mikes quartet played inside the church while guests were seated, and Dans former roommate sang a beautiful wedding song during the ceremony. Dan and Mike began their day by sharing a special breakfast with their mothers. They honored their mothers again during the service when they presented them with floral bouquets.
Their Story: Dan and Mike were married at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Rockies, which is also where they met. They knew each other for a few years before their first date, although Mike wasnt vegan at the time. Shortly after they started dating, Mike became vegetarian as a Valentines Day gift to Dan. Two months later, as a birthday gift to himself, Mike went vegan. One day, while eating chocolate cake in the park, Dan asked Mike to marry him.
