There’s chocolate, and then there’s CHOCOLATE. Here at VegNews, we’ve tried all of the vegan brands and are very clear on our favorites. We want our chocolate rich, fudgy, creamy, and made by an ethical company. After all, chocolate is its own food group (we eat it daily at the VegNews office), and we gift pretty bars and boxes every chance we get. So with Mother’s Day fast approaching on May 12, we knew there was only one thing we could give our cherished readers: an incredible deal on vegan chocolate.
So who did we reach out to for this special deal? The all-vegan, Berkeley-based TCHO chocolatier. Their organic craft chocolate is absolutely heavenly, and we love that it’s made with the most premium ingredients. But as good as their chocolate is, they’re an incredibly ethical company. Founded in 2007 as a fair-trade, eco-conscious chocolate brand, TCHO spent years perfecting the art of chocolate, working closely with farmers, and ensuring excellent business practices every step of the way. But then it hit them: one of the best things they could do for the environment was to remove dairy from their beloved bars. So in 2021, they made it their mission to become a fully vegan company—and one year later, they accomplished just that. And guess what? They’ve already won multiple awards for their rich, creamy, dairy-free chocolate, all while reducing their greenhouse emissions by 90 percent after going plant-based. We love this company!
