Fashion brand Armani showcased its newest collection—headlined by vegan faux-fur—at its Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Menswear show in Milan. The collection consisted of a range of pieces from full-length faux-fur coats to shawls, jackets, and backpacks. “The new men’s collection, inspired by the animal world, is designed with a hybrid habitat in mind, made up of natural scenarios punctuated by a concrete jungle, with a pragmatic and sporty imprint—yet an urban spirit at its core,” the brand, which stopped using animal fur in 2016, described its new faux-fur collection. “The sensuous textures and colors are the distinguishing features of garments and technical-looking accessories, creating a signature made up of strong volumes and wild patterns inspired by feline stripes and animal motifs: all strictly eco.” In addition to Armani, a growing list of fashion brands have pledged to stop using animal fur—including Versace, Donna Karan/DKNY, Gucci, and Michael Kors—and instead, opting to use materials that pay tribute to animals without harming them.
