Today, 14 professional athletes have joined the roster of investors and ambassadors of California-based vegan brand Beyond Meat after experiencing first-hand the health and performance benefits of plant-based meat. NBA stars Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Paul, Victor Oladipo, DeAndre Jordan, JaVale McGee, Harrison Barnes, and Luke Walton; NFL stars DeAndre Hopkins, Malcolm Jenkins, and Derrick Morgan (and his wife Charity); and ski racer Lindsey Vonn, rock climber Alex Honnold, and snowboarder Shaun White were unveiled as part of the brand’s new “Go Beyond” campaign. The campaign spotlights the athletes’ spirit and drive to reach the unattainable—the same spirit that created Beyond Meat—and is being kicked off with a video featuring NBA All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving. The video chronicles Irving’s journey to greatness and the ingredients that got him to where he is today. “Beyond Meat is the best thing that I could be a part of and it only helps me better perform as an athlete,” Irving said. The athletes join existing athlete shareholders in Beyond Meat such as JJ Redick, David Wright, Eric Bledsoe, Maya Moore, Tia Blanco, April Ross, and Maggie Vessey, as well as celebrities Snoop Dogg, Common, Jessica Chastain, Liza Koshy, and Nicole Williams. In coming weeks, Beyond Meat will share stories that champion vegan meat featuring other members of the “Go Beyond” campaign.
