In its 14th annual report, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has unveiled the country’s most veg-friendly airports. Reviewing restaurant menus at the nation’s busiest airports, a restaurant ranks as “healthful” if it serves at least one high-fiber, cholesterol-free menu item for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Topping the list for the first time ever is Baltimore/Washington International Airport, which offers multiple plant-based entrées including a mango-vegetable stir-fry with quinoa pasta and a warm roasted vegetable salad made with local produce. Travelers can get a vegetarian fiesta salad or vegan sushi at second-place winner, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and LAX—third on PCRM’s list—houses Real Food Daily, the country’s first all-vegan airport eatery. The worse place for healthy, plant-based options? The Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (the busiest in the United States) remains in last place for the fourth year in a row.
