Tofu Marinade
Baked or smoked tofu is a healthy alternative to cheese and an excellent source of protein. Delicious flavors are available pre-packaged in natural food stores or can be made easily at home. Heres one of my favorite quick and easy marinades.
What You Need:
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/4-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 block firm tofu
What You Do:
- Combine the juice, soy sauce, garlic and ginger in a bowl.
- Cut the firm tofu into thin "sheets" and place in the bowl with the marinade. Let sit for at least 30 minutes, spooning some of the liquid over the tofu a few times.
- You can use the marinated tofu as is, or bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Any leftover marinade makes a great salad dressing.
