Vegan Fast Food Drive-Through Coming to Memphis

In 2012, Memphis had the largest obese population; locals say a healthy veg-friendly grab-and-go option is just what the city needs.

Amy’s Kitchen is set to open in Rohnert Park, CA, bringing healthy fast food to the forefront, and Tennessee isn’t far behind. Known for its meaty barbeque, Memphis is about to get a little bit greener with the addition of Love Shack, a fast food meat-free drive-through. Slated to open later this month, Love Shack will dish out vegan green smoothies, soups, sprouted-grain salads, sushi, and freshly made almond milk to drivers and bike riders through its unique drive-through-only restaurant. Morning commuters can look forward to Love Shack’s breakfast menu as a healthy alternative to existing fast food chains. Produce is likely to be locally sourced, and Development Manager Chris Conner has plans to work with the local East Memphis community.
